Alex first came to Bible Baptist Church to help with VBS. Here you see him sporting a custom shirt he made with the Pastor dressed as Blues Clues for VBS 2009. Big hit!

During this time, Lauren had no idea Alex had fallen in love at first sight. Alex asked the Pastor who that blonde girl with that bucket hat was and knew he was in trouble when the Pastor said she was his daughter.

Lauren and Alex quickly became friends, but keeping the friendship with others and staying in groups.

After a few months at college, Lauren came back for Christmas break. Alex was asking friends close to Lauren about her and building up the courage to ask her out, eventually it leaked to Lauren and she had declined, stating she wanted to remain friends for at least a year.

So they waited and their friendship grew.

VBS came and went, marking a year of friendship, and they remained only friends.

Summer passed by quickly, however their friendship grew. Hanging out going on bike rides, drives, volunteering together at FMSC, and other activities with each other and with friends.

After a Youth Group outting to Sever's Fall Festival in Shakopee Alex was driving Lauren back to her house in his Dad's minivan when she asked him if he still was interested in her, he responded with a simple "Yes", from that point they started talking.

They had hung out here and there on their own, but Ikea was their first real date.

As they entered into the Holiday season more and more friends, church members, and family slowly found out about their new relationship. Alex served as Lauren's server at the church's annual Christmas ladies event.

Things were going great! They continued to go on adventures, go do activities at the mall, mini road trips, and dates every few weeks. They also enjoyed a night in binge watching Monk and other shows.

Alex and Lauren had started a tradition to go out to somewhere nice once a month. In late January, Alex gave Lauren a promise ring! Alex always had a feeling that this wasn't too soon.

In February Alex and Lauren joined by Carson and Calissa went on a vacation at the Wisconsin Dells. Along the road trip over Alex and Lauren surprised his grandparents house and they met Lauren for the first time.

Alex and Lauren love their sunsets and enjoying them together has always been one of their favorite things to do together.

Lauren would put on proms and formals for friends and the youth group. While not required to be a couple, Alex and Lauren did go as a couple and Alex surprised Lauren by wearing a matching tie to her dress.

This was Alex's first time at Valley Fair and won Lauren a giant stuffed cow at one of the carnival games. He also claims to have gone on the "scary rides"

Alex loves "sharing" his hoodies with Lauren! So much so he bought another one to replace the one he unknowingly had shared.

Lauren would talk Alex into not wearing his cap and wear matching outfits to church.

Alex and Lauren had walked around the park throughout the past few years and made alot of memories there, including his second fake proposal! They say third time is the charm, and that must be true because on March 7th, 2026 he got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him.
